Mari Yamashita (Vibraphone仌Marimba player/Composer) | ||
Born 1973 in Mie, Japan. | ||
Mari learned the classical piano at the age of 3 | ||
and the percussion at the age 9. | ||
Upon graduating from the Senzoku Gakuen College with | ||
a classical music degree. | ||
She had received the Maeda Music Prize and Japan Classical | ||
Music Competition Special prize. | ||
In 1999, She enrolled the Berklee College of Music in Boston. | ||
She has also studied with Ed Saindon, Dave Samuels, | ||
Victor Mendoza and Nancy Zeltzman. | ||
In 2003, Mari went back to Japan to begin her professional | ||
career as a musician, composer. | ||
In 2007, Mari started her own label-Erato Music. | ||
In 2008, She released her first CD "Erato" as a leader. | ||
In 2010, She released her second CD "Sunflower" . | ||
With amazingly talented musicians. | ||
